Template for our Bands Website

After looking at Similar artists websites, I went onto Wix and started creating my own for our band. Here is the link of the outcome: daisyjelley0.wixsite.com/krystalk. I found the key features that band websites have for example: merchandise, tour dates,  news and info about them, online booking and a contact. If you scroll down the main home page, I have included a banner, their new single, going down to tour dates, a biography of the band, the band members, a gallery of their photos, their merchandise, a contact, and a place where you can sign up for subscription. I made sure to include copyrighting from their Record label and the companies phone number.

On the top menu bar, I included Titles that linked to other pages, These are probably the main options people would go on the site looking for, therefore this bar is useful. Below are the pages these titles link to.

When making this template, I kept in mind the genre of music the band produce, the star image were wanting to create for the band and what interest the target audience. This lead to the bold block colours to represent the fun, pop atmosphere the the band creates. I lead to choices such as: putting the 'shop' and 'book now' on the top menu bar as it is what the target audience are likely to be going onto the site for. Including a large amount of photos and their social media account at the top, goes alongside the likes and interests of the target audience. The band are represented as indie pop "stars" with a large social media following and a constant want for merchandise, concert tickets and to read about them by the audience.

  1. Good work on getting the blog up and running again, Daisy. The template you've used here is fine, but I would like to see you beginning to demonstrate the design ideas more clearly so that the relationship between the three products is obvious and a coherent brand image emerges. You need to go back over some of your older posts and make sure that the evaluation is in place; you haven't recorded anything on your animatic yet, for example.
